Scott Lee
Technical Alignment Manager
Professional Services Engineer, Level II
About Me:
I have been working in the IT industry since 1989, cutting my teeth on printers, faxes and 286 and 386 machines. Throughout the years I have worked in different positions as PC technician, system and network administrator, and IT manager at various local businesses. . Back when I first started there were no real classes on networking.. Most of my experience has been through learning and doing, often times volunteering my services in order to learn new skills.
I am obsessed with automating and simplifying repeatable processes, a very important part of the Managed Services business model. I remember back in 1999, in order to prepare for Y2K, I was able to reduce POS downtime from 1 hour to 15 minutes per POS machine in a company that had stores throughout the Hawaiian island, upgrading 50 stores with 100+ POS machines on my own in a 3 – 4 month period. I’ve worked with 5-Star hotels on the mainland to build out new stores, including training and documentation for store staff, POS setup and communication back to the corporate office in Honolulu.
Creating a working environment and establishing relationships with people in other departments generated a feeling of teamwork where we could depend on each other for assistance. They knew they could always come to me for help regarding IT issues and I could go to them to ask for their assistance in their respective departments.
My prior employers over the years include Sullivan Family of Companies (parent of Foodland and Food Pantry), PriceBusters.
