Genell Simoes

Genell was born and raised on Oʻahu, graduated from Kamehameha Schools, and holds two degrees from UH Mānoa — a Bachelor of Arts in Hawaiian Studies and, later, an Executive MBA.

She spent more than two decades in the healthcare industry, running finance and operations for organizations where the stakes of getting the numbers right included people's well-being. In 2025 she decided the timing was right for a new chapter, and joined Indevtech as Financial Controller. The move was not a leap into the unknown — she had known the company, and Scott personally, for years before crossing over. Working for someone she admires, she has said, is not something she takes for granted.

Outside of work she travels, reads, and stays active. After a lifetime in the pool she discovered tennis, and she has recently taken on the challenge of learning golf — which is going about as well as learning golf usually goes.

What Genell values most is time with her family and their dogs — especially a certain fifteen-year-old, who in her own words is her "best friend and little love."
