Danny Luu

Danny grew up on Oahu and just finished his computer science degree at UH Mānoa, where he also spent three years working the campus IT desk. He came to Indevtech the way most of our best people have — from a college job that was secretly a real one, doing the work without anyone making a big deal about it.

At Indevtech he's a Technology Concierge I and one of the first names many partner-firm clients learn. Danny's the one taking the Concierge call at 9:14 on a Tuesday morning when the printer is doing what it's doing today. He stays on it until the person on the other end has working technology again, which is not — despite what most help desks would have you believe — the default behavior.

What Danny brings to the work is roughly the inverse of the technician archetype: curiosity about the technology paired with genuine interest in the person on the phone. The first half is teachable. The second half is harder to come by, and the team noticed it quickly.

When we rolled out the internal document laying out everything in the TechFuel service catalog, Danny looked at it for a minute and said, oh — I just thought we did everything. He wasn't being a smartass. He genuinely thought that was the job. Which, when you stop and think about it, is the right answer.

Off the clock, he hikes Hawaii's trails and, in his own words, is "still learning to surf." Which is most people.
